Food Service Technician

Avoyelles Parish Schools is accepting applications for the position of Food Service Technician. This position supports the district's school food service program and assists with food preparation, service, storage, safety, and daily food service operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required
  • Willingness to participate in required in-service training, workshops, meetings, and professional development
  • Excellent physical and mental health as verified by a physician
  • Food service experience is desirable
  • Pleasant personality and cooperative attitude
  • Understanding of the overall school food service program
  • Must complete required fingerprinting, TB testing, drug seminar, and drug testing
  • Must pass a criminal background investigation and/or drug screen

Position Information
9-month position reporting to the Food Service Manager.

Finance Director

Application Deadline: Tuesday, October 6, 2026 by 3:00 p.m.

Avoyelles Parish Schools is accepting applications for the position of Finance Director. The Finance Director coordinates and supervises the business affairs of the Avoyelles Parish School Board and works to ensure the prudent management and expenditure of school system funds.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Baccalaureate degree with a minimum of 24 hours of business-related courses, such as accounting, finance, or management
  • Certified Public Accountant licensed in Louisiana
  • Master's degree in public or business administration

Work Experience

  • Three years of work experience in a field relevant to the duties and responsibilities of a lead school business administrator, including accounting, finance, or other areas of fiscal management

Continuing Education

  • Lead school business administrators must acquire Certified Louisiana School Business Administrator (CLSBA) certification through the Louisiana Association of School Business Officials (LASBO) within seven years of the date of hire and maintain certification while employed in the position
  • An active Louisiana CPA license may be substituted for the CLSBA certification

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the business affairs of the Avoyelles Parish School Board
  • Supervise and maintain control in the areas of payroll, budgeting, purchasing, accounting, insurance, and financial record keeping
  • Direct proper accounting procedures to help ensure accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
  • Maintain supervisory responsibility for employees working within the Department of Finance
  • Maintain supervisory control of accounting procedures for monies collected for and within district schools

Position Information
12-month position reporting to the Superintendent.

Supervisory Areas
Payroll, Purchasing, Budgeting, Sales Tax Finance, Insurance, Grant Reporting, and School Activity Fund.
